New quilt for my mom

Just finished this quilt for my mom and Ilove it! It is so soft and heavy, I just want to curl up and sleep! She is going to love it! Previously, I had made her another owl quilt and she wanted another one to go along with it. Here is a photo: the owl theme is what she wanted to match. They are both lap quilts for their living room. Let me know what you think.

January 5, 2014 I'm ready for a change

I didn't feel like going to church today because It was early and I was tired and some days you just want to spend in bed under the covers, plus there was frost on the ground and I didn't want to leave my house. We needed to go to the early service today because my son, Nate, had to work at 11, which is not the norm. We like to go as a family and so we got up and went.
I am glad we did! The worship brought me out of my foggy selfishness and into fellowship with other believers. The message was on community, which just last night I was thinking I just wanted to watch church online! We are signing up for a life group so we can be closer connected with people and maybe through all of that, make some lasting friendships, which I have missed since leaving Utah!
I have been busy sewing and trying to create! I have had 2 orders for baby quilts shown below-
Plus my mother has ordered one, so it is been busy! I look forward to posting more as I make more. Thanks for reading!

New year and a New perspective

January 1, 2014- This year is feeling different to me already! I am excited to see all that this year brings! I have started an Etsy account called PeriwinkleCorner and am trying to sell my creative inspirations! Please check it out! For my friends in Utah, I had a great time visiting you all at Christmas and miss you! Moving to Washington has been a wonderful, but challenging move as I am still trying to get my feet on the ground. The house still needs the painting finished, I am still getting my resume out there for a job and the kids have me all over the place in their many adventures as well.
Today, my husband surprised me by taking me to lunch, as he is usually working at that time. He mentioned going to the "water", which is the Puget Sound inlet, to get some clam chowder. We drove down there, but most restaurants were closed due to the holiday, so we just drove. On the other side of the inlet, down by a marina, we found a treasure-Tugboat Annie's! It was open and let me say had the best clam chowder I think I have ever had. Made from scratch and with huge chunks of clams in it, some of them bigger than the potatoes! We will definitely be going there again!
My goal is to get in great shape this year and I started off by getting some exercise, but I think I will have to do a bit more to burn off that clam chowder!
Take a look at my shop and I will be posting some pics as I continue to post!
Thanks for reading!
